Kris Murray poured in 26 points and point guard Tony Perkins guided Iowa masterfully with 23 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as the Hawkeyes shellacked No. 15 Indiana 90-68 on Tuesday night in Bloomington, Ind.
The Hawkeyes, who began the night in a three-way tie for sixth in the Big Ten, led by 11 at intermission and proceeded to pick the Hoosiers apart in the second half. Iowa also swept the regular-season series with Indiana.
Filip Rebraca posted 16 points and eight rebounds, and Payton Sandfort also scored 16 points, mostly from going 5 of 9 from 3-point range, for Iowa (19-11, 11-8 Big Ten).
A 14-2 run gave the Hawkeyes a 61-40 cushion with 15:43 left in the game. Murray, who made 9 of 16 shots from the floor and 5 of 8 from distance, scored seven points during the run. He also finished with two blocks.
Indiana, which shot 51.6 percent before the break, hit only 2 of 11 shots to start the second half and never got closer than 19 the rest of the way. The Hoosiers (20-10, 11-8) began the night in a four-way tie for second in the conference.
Trayce Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 26 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Freshman Jalen Hood-Schifino, who scored a season-high 35 points as Indiana beat Purdue on Saturday, managed only eight points on Tuesday. Malik Reneau finished with 10 points for the Hoosiers.
The Hawkeyes shot 60.7 percent from the floor in the first half, and they were at 67.6 percent with about 13 minutes left in the game before finishing the night at 55.6 percent. They were 13 of 23 (56.5 percent) on 3-point attempts.
Indiana, which had 10 turnovers, shot only 33.3 percent in the second half to finish at 43.1 for the game.
The Hawkeyes built a double-digit lead in the game's first three minutes, but Indiana whittled the deficit to three with about 11 minutes left in the first half.
That's when Perkins took over, collecting 10 points as the Hawkeyes went on a 22-8 burst, capped by Murray's 3-pointer with 4:30 left and Iowa leading 43-26. Murray had 15 points at the break and Perkins had 13 points and six assists.
Jackson-Davis finished the half with 15 points and seven rebounds. The Hoosiers trailed 47-36.
