Andrew Carr scored 21 points and Hunter Sallis added 20 points as Wake Forest won its sixth game in a row by defeating visiting Presbyterian 91-68 on Thursday afternoon at Winston-Salem, N.C.
It was a huge second half for the Demon Deacons (8-3), who racked up 45 points in the first 15 minutes after intermission to turn a tight game into a blowout.
Wake Forest wrapped up its nonconference schedule by improving to 7-0 in home games. It will finish a seven-game homestand when Virginia Tech visits Dec. 30 for an Atlantic Coast Conference game.
Kevin Miller posted 19 points, Efton Reid III had 14 points and eight rebounds in his first start and Cameron Hildreth supplied 11 points to help the Demon Deacons to their third straight victory with a margin of more than 20 points. Carr was 7-for-11 from the floor with a team-high nine rebounds and Sallis was 9-for-12.
Wake Forest shot 55.4 percent from the field and made 21 of 23 free throws. Reid was in his fourth game since he was granted eligibility from the NCAA.
Samage Teel had 17 points and Jamahri Harvey added 14 for Presbyterian (7-7), which couldn't repeat the type of performance it used last month to win at Vanderbilt.
The Blue Hose shot 42.1 percent from the field and committed 15 turnovers.
Presbyterian, which was in its final nonconference road game, lost twice in less than 48 hours after Tuesday night's setback at Furman.
Wake Forest led 40-37 at halftime and in less than six minutes of the second half extended the gap to 55-42. Sallis provided a highlight-worthy dunk, and Carr and Miller hit 3-pointers during the burst. That preceded a 16-4 run for the Demon Deacons.
Parker Friedrichsen's 3-pointer with 8:31 to play swelled the lead to 77-50. That was followed by a four-minute stretch later in the half when the Blue Hose managed to score only three points.
