Bruins 5, Rangers 2: Defenseman Johnny Boychuk scored to snap a tie in the second period and Tuukka Rask turned aside 35 shots as host Boston seized a 2-0 advantage in its Eastern Conference second-round series with sixth-seeded New York.

Defenseman Torey Krug tallied for the second time in as many career postseason games and set up Gregory Campbell's first goal of the playoffs. Brad Marchand had a goal and an assist in his second straight contest and Milan Lucic also scored for the fourth-seeded Bruins, who will travel to Madison Square Garden for Game 3 on Tuesday.

With the Original Six rivals tied at 2-2, the speedy Marchand skated up the right wing before putting on the brakes prior to entering the right faceoff circle. Marchand alertly set up a trailing Boychuk, who used Patrice Bergeron as a screen and wired a shot past Henrik Lundqvist (27 saves).

Boston claimed a two-goal advantage just 26 seconds into the third period - on a goal reminiscent to the overtime winner in Game 1. Bergeron breezed into the offensive zone and zipped a pass from below the right circle that Marchand redirected between the pads of Lundqvist.

The Bruins grabbed a 2-1 lead at 2:24 of the second period as Krug's wrist shot from the left point caromed off the skate of Rangers defenseman Dan Girardi and right to Campbell, who backhanded the loose puck past Lundqvist. Rick Nash answered 56 seconds later, skating past Boston captain Zdeno Chara in the neutral zone before beating Rask for his first goal of the postseason.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Krug opened the scoring 5:28 into the first period by settling RW Nathan Horton's feed before wristing a shot between the pads of Lundqvist. Captain Ryan Callahan forged a tie just over 2 1/2 minutes later, forcing a turnover by Marchand and beating rookie D Dougie Hamilton to the puck before slipping a shot past Rask. ... Both teams continue to struggle on the power play. New York, which failed to score on all five opportunities with the man advantage, is 2-for-36 in the postseason. Boston, which went 0-for-1, is 4-for-25 in the playoffs. ... After being called out by New York coach John Tortorella following Saturday's practice, LW Carl Hagelin saw ice time on the power play - but was denied by the right pad of Rask late in the second period.
