Canadiens 4, Bruins 2: Defenseman P.K. Subban collected a goal and an assist for his third straight multi-point performance and fifth in six contests as host Montreal seized a 2-1 advantage in its Eastern Conference second-round series.

Lars Eller and Dale Weise also scored and set up a goal for the Canadiens, who look to push the Presidents' Trophy-winning Bruins to the brink of elimination with a win at home in Game 4 on Thursday. Tomas Plekanec also tallied and Carey Price finished with 26 saves to rebound from yielding three goals in a 5 1/2-minute span in Saturday's 5-3 setback in Game 2.

After Montreal scored the contest's first three goals, Patrice Bergeron got Boston on the scoreboard by deflecting defenseman Torey Krug's shot from the point with 2:12 remaining in the second period. The Bruins pulled Tuukka Rask (22 saves) for an extra skater and took advantage as Jarome Iginla tipped blue-liner Andrej Meszaros' shot past Price with 2:16 left in the third. Boston pressed for the equalizer, but Eller's empty-net goal sealed the win.

The Canadiens drew first blood midway through the first period as Subban deftly tapped the puck back to Thomas Vanek along the right-wing boards. The Austrian fired a diagonal slap pass to Plekanec, who buried the puck under the crossbar from the left doorstep.

Subban doubled the advantage less than four minutes later, exiting the penalty box before skating in on a breakaway and tucking the puck past the extended left pad of Rask. Weise gave Montreal a 3-0 lead with 6:08 remaining in the second, reeling in Daniel Briere's lead pass before wristing a shot between the pads of Rask.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Subban scored two power-play goals in the Canadiens' 4-3 double-overtime win in Game 1 and notched two assists in the team's Game 2 setback. He has collected three goals and eight assists during his six-game point streak and leads all NHL defensemen with 11 points in the postseason. ... Boston failed on its lone power-play opportunity to drop to 0-for-6 in the series.
