Stars 4, Canadiens 1: Tyler Seguin added two goals to his league-leading total and also notched an assist as host Dallas snapped its four-game winless streak.

Cody Eakin scored on the power play and Ryan Garbutt added an empty-netter for the Stars, who were 2-for-6 with the man advantage. Captain Jamie Benn notched two assists and Kari Lehtonen made 16 saves for his first victory since November 25.

Sven Andrighetto scored in his NHL debut for Montreal, which finished its four-game road trip with three straight losses. Carey Price stopped 25 shots in defeat.

Seguin fired a one-timer past Price during a two-man advantage 3:09 into the second period and scored on a quick shot off a faceoff with 7.8 seconds remaining in the session to give Dallas a 3-0 lead. Seguin leads the league with 21 goals and 35 points.

Eakin opened the scoring 11:23 into the contest by swatting home the rebound of a shot by Seguin. Andrighetto cut to the net and beat Lehtonen with a backhand move 2:21 into the third, but Garbutt sealed the victory with 64 seconds remaining.

Dallas held a moment of silence before the game in honor of Canadiens legend Jean Beliveau, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 83. … Montreal C Lars Eller was a late scratch due to an upper-body injury. … The Canadiens begin a five-game homestand Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks.
