Calle Jarnkrok, Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson scored late in the first period Saturday night for the host Nashville Predators, who went on to beat the New York Islanders, 5-2.

Kyle Turris scored in the third period while Forsberg added an empty-netter for the Predators, who completed a quick season sweep of the Islanders. Nashville beat New York, 4-3, in the latter's home opener on Oct. 6.

Predators goalie Juuse Saros made 20 saves.

Brock Nelson and Andrew Ladd scored for the Islanders, who began a four-game Western Conference road swing. Goalie Robin Lehner recorded 24 saves.

The Predators had 12 of the game's first 15 shots before scoring three goals in the final 4:35 of the opening period.

Jarnkrok opened the scoring by capping an end-to-end rush. Nick Bonino, racing up the left side of the ice, deked an Islanders defender and passed across the goalmouth to Jarnkrok, who tucked the puck into the open right corner of the net as Lehner was sprawled in the other direction.

The Predators doubled their lead on another end-to-end rush 72 seconds later. Ryan Johansen sent a pass across the ice under a sprawling Johnny Boychuk to a wide open Forsberg, who beat Lehner over his right shoulder.

Johansen recorded another nifty assist with 10 seconds remaining, when he led Matt Martin to the left of the net before firing the puck to Arvidsson, who put a shot under Lehner's glove.

The Islanders scored twice in a span of six minutes in the second.

Nelson scored his 100th career goal at the 6:14 mark. Nelson, who had just sprinted past Johansen and P.K. Subban, took a pass from Anders Lee in stride and beat Saros at point-blank range.

Mathew Barzal, the reigning Calder Trophy winner, stole the puck deep in the Predators zone to set up Ladd's goal. Barzal shuffled the puck behind the net for several seconds before feeding Ladd, whose shot sailed under the glove of Saros, who was screened by Roman Josi and Ryan Ellis, with 7:58 remaining in the period.

Turris extended the Predators' lead back to two goals when he scored 4:32 into the third. Forsberg iced the game by firing a shot about 180 feet into the empty Islanders net with exactly a minute remaining.
