Anderson scored twice in the first period, giving him 10 goals on the season. He flipped home a rebound from in front of the net at 3:55 after a shot by Boone Jenner, as the Maple Leafs paid for defenseman Morgan Rielly's turnover.

The Blue Jackets right winger scored again at 9:57, batting the puck out of the air into the goal after a shot by Lukas Sedlak.

It was the third consecutive game in which the Maple Leafs had fallen behind 2-0, including their 4-2 victory over the Blue Jackets on Monday.

Hainsey scored his third goal this season, a long shot from the left point, at 16:16 to cut the lead to 2-1.

The Maple Leafs tied the game at 2:58 of the second period on the 10th goal of the season by Kapanen, who sped down the left wing and had his shot from the left circle slip between Bobrovsky's right arm and body.

Columbus regained the lead at 16:14 of the second on a short-handed goal by Atkinson, who dragged the puck around John Tavares to notch No. 14 this season from the slot. Artemi Panarin was off for tripping.

Hannikainen knocked in his second goal of the season at 3:35 of the third period after Panarin had taken the puck to the net on a counter.

Columbus killed off a slashing penalty to Anderson at 16:27 of the third. Toronto had four shots on goal during the power play.
