Brock Nelson scored at 1:04 of overtime as the New York Islanders defeated the host Minnesota Wild 3-2 on Sunday.
Jordan Eberle and Anders Lee also scored, and goaltender Thomas Greiss made 32 saves as the Islanders won for the fifth time in their past seven games and bounced back from a disappointing 2-1 loss to the Red Wings on Saturday in Detroit.
Zach Parise and Jared Spurgeon scored for Minnesota, which lost for the fourth time in its past five games. Goalie Alex Stalock, making just his second start in the past 14 games, stopped 17 of 20 shots.
Nelson, stationed in the slot, took a pass from Mathew Barzal on the left wing and beat Stalock with a one-timer for the winner.
The Islanders twice took a one-goal lead in regulation, only to see the Wild tie it both times.
New York opened the scoring at 9:28 of the first period after Barzal stole the puck along the boards near the Minnesota blue line. Barzal was able to send a cross-ice pass to Eberle, who eluded a defenseman and beat Stalock between the pads.
The Wild tied it on a power play at 11:11 of the second. From the right corner, Ryan Suter made a pass to Parise at the top of the crease. Parise was able to stop the puck with his skate, but it trickled between his feet, so he reached back and shot from between his legs, the puck tucking just inside the left post. Ryan Donato also got an assist.
Lee scored for the fourth consecutive game, on a power play at 16:12 of the second, to put the Islanders back in front. Lee tipped Devon Toews' shot from the point past Stalock. Nelson also got an assist on the goal.
The Wild tied it at 2-2 at 7:15 of the third on the power play. Eric Staal's shot from the top of the right faceoff circle was stopped, but Spurgeon was able to bat home the rebound.
