Travis Sanheim scored the game-winning goal at 1:35 of overtime to lift the host Philadelphia Flyers over the Ottawa Senators 4-3 on Saturday.
Sanheim received a crisp pass from Cam Atkinson and connected.
Oskar Lindblom had one goal and an assist for the Flyers, who have won four of five. Claude Giroux and Joel Farabee each contributed one goal. Travis Konecny added two helpers.
Flyers goaltender Martin Jones stopped 28 shots in the start after Carter Hart was scratched with an unspecified illness.
Alex Formenton led the Senators with one goal and one assist. Tim Stutzle and Artem Zub chipped in with one goal apiece.
Senators goaltender Anton Forsberg made 34 saves.
The Flyers went ahead 1-0 when Lindblom sent a nifty backhand pass to Giroux, who snapped a wrist shot into the net at 4:19 of the first period.
Lindblom soon fired a slap shot which deflected off the stick of Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot and past Forsberg for a 2-0 advantage at 7:32.
Senators head coach D.J. Smith took a rare early timeout after the second goal.
The Senators struggled offensively but picked up the pace down the stretch. Chabot ripped a shot, which was saved by Jones, as the buzzer sounded.
Ottawa came out strong in the second and closed within 2-1 when Stutzle scored on the short side of Jones at 2:09.
Formenton then connected on an unassisted short-handed goal at 3:22 to equalize at 2-2.
The Flyers received a late power play in the second yet couldn't convert despite several strong scoring chances.
Chabot nearly gave the Senators a one-goal lead at 8:31 of the third as he skated in all alone and unleashed a shot. But Jones was able to get his skate on the puck and then clear it out of the zone.
Ottawa took a 3-2 advantage at 13:43 when Zub fired a shot from the point through traffic.
The Flyers, however, tied the game 52 seconds later as Farabee scored from a difficult angle.
