Morgan Geekie's pair of third-period goals helped the Boston Bruins rally for a 3-1 win over the visiting Colorado Avalanche on Saturday afternoon.

Geekie tied the game at 1-1 less than a minute into the third period and delivered the game-winner with 14:16 left. He has produced four goals across a three-game scoring streak, including Boston's opening tally in each of those contests.

David Pastrnak had the primary assist on both Geekie goals and scored an empty-netter with 2.3 seconds to go, giving him a seven-game point streak (six goals, 10 assists). He has 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) in his last 20 games.

Jeremy Swayman made 27 saves for the Bruins, who have climbed back into the Eastern Conference playoff mix during a 5-1-1 run.

Artturi Lehkonen scored a goal and Scott Wedgewood stopped 12 shots for Colorado, which has lost three straight (0-1-2).

The Avalanche had a 28-15 advantage in shots on goal and went 0-for-2 on the game's only power plays.

After dominating a scoreless first period to the tune of 12-5 in shots, Colorado took the 1-0 lead on Lehkonen's snipe from the right side just 1:30 into the second. Juuso Parssinen cruised into the offensive zone and made a backhand pass to set up the play.

Boston did not record a high-danger scoring chance and managed only eight shots through the first two periods but quickly pulled even in the third.

Geekie equalized 25 seconds into the period when he pumped home a one-timer off Pastrnak's centering feed on the rush.

The Bruins took a 2-1 lead at 5:44 when Geekie banged home a perfect Pastrnak pass from across the crease to an open right post.

Swayman stopped nine shots in the third period, including two with the Avalanche on the power play, to keep Colorado at bay.

Forwards Martin Necas and Jack Drury both made their Avalanche debuts after being acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes in Friday's three-team blockbuster trade.

Necas was immediately slotted on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin but finished with a minus-3 rating.
